Top Distance Runners Being Sought To Complete All-Star Field!

(DUBLIN, Calif.) — Who wants to throw their hat, er, sombrero in the ring?
The upcoming Dublin Distance Fiesta (March 15th) has rounded up some of the best distance runners in Northern California, but is looking to add to the list by extending the invitation to leading Southern California eight lappers as well!
Among the current entrants are state cross-country individual champion Aidan Goltra (Campolindo HS), cross-country All-American Blair Hurlock (De La Salle), and all-state cross-country honorees Fred Huxham (Redwood), Gabe Arias-Sheridan (St. Joseph Notre Dame), and Cameron Tu (Alameda). (Note: Saratoga's Steven Sum, the top returnee in the Central Coast Section, has just added to the field!)
Already on the table is a great race, an exciting meet (live deejay music during the races), ample competition (40-plus schools and 1,000-plus distance runners last year), and unique awards — including the coveted champions sombrero to the fastest time of the day in each event and custom champions t-shirts as well!
These reasons help account for the meet's popularity with distance runners and growth in participation numbers over the years.
Looking for a little bit more of an incentive? Well, to sweeten the spot event further, the top three placers in the fastest section of the boys 3200 meters at the Dublin Distance Fiesta will be assured spots into one of the two fastest heats of the 3200 at the Arcadia Invitational on April 12th. The race winner will be assured a spot into the fastest 3200m race at Arcadia, which last year saw 16 runners break 9 minutes in the "A" heat and two more runners break 9 minutes in the B heat.
It's just one more reason you'll want to be part of the festivities at Dublin High on March 15th.
As Distance Fiesta meet director Chris Williams likes to say… "Come Join The Fiesta! "
